Show Lunt Motor Company To Establish New Recapping1 Plant The truck owners and car own-vis own-vis or Southern Utali will be glid to learn of tiie establ.shment in Cedar City of a new and complete tire recapping plant, to be placed in operation within the next few weeks. The Lunt Motor Company ha recently teen granted the priority to purchase moulds, matrix', buffers, buf-fers, spreaders, steel kettles, vulcanizing vul-canizing equipment, tools, etc. Enough to equip an up-to-date and complete ncapping and vulcanizing vulcaniz-ing factory. Much of this equipment is made of aluminum alloys. For that rea-.son, rea-.son, the getting of a priority wv, no little Job. The OPA, the WP3, and the Tire Recapping Association Associa-tion had to approve the purchase. But when the proper authorities were shown the need for such a plant between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles, and when some or the officials visited Iron County and saw the new and permanent developments taking place here, it was decided that Cedar City was the projer location for such a tin; recapping business. The plant, when completed and equipped, will cot about $12,000. From three to five men will be employed per shift. The plant will likely be located on south main street on the property of the Lunt Brothers, Just north of the Lunt Motor Company garage building. Most of the machinery has already arrived in Cedar City. The Lunt Motor Company has been considered Southern Utah's largest tire dealer for years past. This new recapping department will not only add to that business, but will fill a real need for truck owner-. At the present time, it is necessary for local dealers and owners to ship large truck tires to and from larger centers to get the work done.
