Show Officers Report Increase In Delinquency That Juvenile delinquency is increasing in-creasing In Cedar City Is evidenced by the fact that city police officers have apprehended no less than twelve Juveniles in the post two weeks. The offenses range from destruction of property by boys using flippers to "Shop-Lifting." The latest and perhaps the most serious of the offenses is the shoplifting shop-lifting charges. Three high school girls were apprehended during the week charged with taking articles of clothing from the PrlscUla and Moderne Style Shoppe, ladles' ready-to-wear stores. The merchandise merchan-dise was recovered and returned to the stores. City Police Chief Arthur Nelson reports that even since this case was cleared up reports of additional addition-al merchandise stolen from local stores have been received. He states that severe penalties will be Imposed Im-posed for these offen es and warns that In order to put a stop to such activities no leniency Is to be shown In any case. The officers nave refused to divulge di-vulge the names of the Juveniles figuring in these cases but Mr. Nelson Nel-son reports that all names will be released for publication if new offenses occur. |
