Show Dr. John Beal Named Coordinating Council Chairman Dr. John Beal was named chairman chair-man of Uie Cedar City Coordinating Coordinat-ing Council last night following an election of three members of the Central Committee of the organi-zaUon. organi-zaUon. Dr. Beal's appointment as chairman becomes effective Immediately. Im-mediately. Mrs. Arthur Gardner was reelected re-elected to the Central Committee, having served In that capacity sln:e the Council was organized, Two new members of the committee, commit-tee, R. J. Shay and L. N. Marsden, Jr., were elected. The holdover members of the committee are Mrs. D. C. Dix, who is also County Coordinator; Co-ordinator; Mrs. Pratt Bethers, who Is serving as secretary; Henry Ob-erhansley Ob-erhansley and N. J. Barlow. In addition to the election a number of committee reports were given, outlining plans for the coming com-ing season. Reports were given by Oene Jenkins, chairman of ttw Health Committee; Hazen Cooley, secretary of the Music Arts Association; Asso-ciation; and Kumen L, Jones, City Beautiflcatlon committee. Ianthus Wright, chairman of the Civic Arts committee, discussed a proposal for cooperation with the City Council and Cedar City Library Li-brary Board In providing a memorial mem-orial building or civic center In connection with a much needed new library building. A committee commit-tee composed of representatives of the City and the Coordinating Council will be named to make a thorough study of the proposal. |
