Show County Organizes For Cancer Control Drive During April Governor Herbert B. Maw has designated the month of April as Cancer Control Month In Utah, according to an announcement made by Mrs. Mark McMullln, Iron County Captain of the Women's Field Army for the Control of Cancer. Can-cer. Mrs. McMullln is busy completing com-pleting her county organization in order that the drive for funds can proceed as rapidly as possible. The county quota has been set at $250. Mrs. McMullln reports, and she urges all citizens to help reach this goal before May 1st. The campaign In Cedar City will be handled by a committee composed com-posed of the following women, Mrj. Kimball Jensen, Lieutenant; Mrs. Thurman Higbee, Mrs. Maeser Dai-ley, Dai-ley, Mrs. Loran Hlrschl. Miss Mildred Mil-dred Jones, and Mrs. Ralph Jones. Mrs. Bryant Beacham will be In charge of the drive In Newcastle, and Mrs. George A. Wood, at Kan arra, Other community chairmen will be announced in the near future. fu-ture. Men and women of today have a vital contribution to make to National Na-tional morale and the social order for which there is no possible substitute sub-stitute , according to Mrs. H. W. Peterson, Regional Commander, whose statement continues: "With every passing moment the need to conserve the men and women wo-men of this nation becomes increasingly in-creasingly important. Maximum effort ef-fort of mind and body must be the minimum contribution of every loyal American. The average man and woman eager to make full contribution to the common cause, welcomes and supports movements and programs for better health through sanitation, nutrition, accident ac-cident prevention, first aid, home nursing, etc. All uch programs are recognized as conservation measures meas-ures of great worth. What the average av-erage man and woman does not recognize is the fact that these measures are ai naught In combat with the great destroyer, cancer. Now as never before the "Women's "Wo-men's Field Army has a "charge to keep." Each time a man or woman wo-man Is lost to the home front or to the production line, victory and peace are postponed. Cancer Is In constant attack upon our man and woman power, but the Women's Field Army knows wherein this enemy Is vulnerable. The Women's Wo-men's Field Army knows that knowledge can effectively fight cancer. Knowledge of cancer arms the Intended victim with Intelligent Intelli-gent alertness and the courage to act promptly and effectively to save himself for his family and his country in this time of greatest need.
