Show School Board Holds Regular Bi-Monthly Meeting The Iron County School Board adopted a tentative budgot for the fiscal year 1941-42 at Its regular semi-monthly meeting held Friday night, the final budget to be adopted on or before May 30. The tentative budget calls for a total operating expenditure of $159,325 as compared with $163,882.-50 $163,882.-50 which is the estimated amount for the current year. The total expenditure ex-penditure called for In 1941-42, including in-cluding debt service, is $192,129, as compared with an expenditure for the last year of $206,681. The tax levy was increased from 13 mills to 13 Vi mills, the ft mill increase being necessary as a result of the bond payments and interest due on the new Cedar City high school building. Other business taken up at the Friday meetln Included the approv-Friday approv-Friday meeting included the approving approv-ing the sending of school buses to St. George on Saturday to transport trans-port the students participating in the music festival being held there, and reaffirming the policy adoptel last year to purchase one painting each year to add to the art collection collec-tion now being assembled by the district. The Board also agreed to a proposal pro-posal submitted by the Beryl people wherein the latter offered to raise a sum of money for the purchase of playground equipment to be installed in-stalled at the Beryl school if the Iron County School Board would match whatever was raised locally. |
