Show "Girls' Week" at College to Feature Many Activities The girls of the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college will completely dominate dom-inate all student body activities at the local school during the annual "Girls' Week" which this year is scheduled for the week of April 23 to May 2, it was announced today by Miss Carmen Carpenter, president presi-dent of the Associated Women Stu dents. The program thus year, according ac-cording to Miss Carpenter, is th? most extensive ever to be undertaken under-taken by the A.W5. and will open Monday morning with the placing of flowers in all the rooms at the school and will come to a close o.i Sunday with a tea at the L.D.S. Institute. Highlights of the week's program include an awards luncheon on Wednesday, the annual fashion show to be presented at an assembly assem-bly on Thursday; the annual dance review to be held Thursday evening in the B.A.C. gm; a special assembly as-sembly featuring a one-act play; and the annual election of officers on Friday, followed that evening by the Girls' Preference Ball; and the Mothers' tea between the hours of 2 and 4:30 p. m. on Sunday a, which time the mothers of all the girls attending school will be honored. hon-ored. Candidates to be voted upon at the election Friday include: for president, Miss Beulah Webb of Hinckley and Miss Dorothy Brad-shaw Brad-shaw of Cedar City; for vice president, presi-dent, Miss Ana Jean Armstrong. Enoch, and Miss Carol Sargent, Cedar City; for secretary, Miss Ann Hopkins, Cedar City, and Miss Janet Judd, Delta. Committees in charge of the various activities during the week are as follows: flower arrangement, Miss Zanola Jones; awards lunch-con, lunch-con, Miss Edna Ashby and Miss Beth Corry; fashion show, Miss Rela Armstrong and Miss Winona .Hunter;. Girls' Preference Ball, Miss Beulah Webb, Miss Ana Jean Armstrong Arm-strong and Miss Ann Hopkins; election of officers, Miss Betty Lou Jones; Mothers' tea, Miss Dorothy Bradshaw, Muss Carol Sargent and Miss Janet Judd. The fashion show, the one-act play and the dance review re-view will be directed by Miss Frances Fran-ces E. Knott, Mrs. Grace Hawkes and Miss LaVeve Petty, respectively. |
