Show PAROWAN. Parowan, Utah, June 21, 1917. George D. Morris has lately pur-chaaed pur-chaaed a new Ford car. Henry Obei hansley made a business trip to the state metropolis this week. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lemmons are here from Panguitch for a short visit with relatives and friends. 0 Albert Warren and son Spencer of Salt. Lake City are here visiting with relatives. -.'. 0 J. C. Mitchell, cashier of the Parowan Paro-wan bank, is in Provo attending the bankers' convention. L. H. Fox and J. Norvall.s with their families have gone to Hurricane to spend a few days. Mrs. Julian Smith of Salt Lake City is a guest of Mrs. Pearl Reid at the Gurr home. Miss Pearl Whitney has taken La-vern La-vern Orton'l place at the Parowan Drug Store. Robert Barker has finished up his work here and has gone to Hurricane to resume work there. .... ...... Miss Caddie Orton of St. (ieorpe is a visitor in Parowan for a few days, a guest of her cousin, Miss Eva Jensen. Jen-sen. Mrs. Gwen M. Benson returned from Salt Lake a few days ago, after a short visit with her sister, Mrs. C. E. Norton. .' -. R. H. Barton and James Mi Carry of Reaver are spending a few days in Parowan in the interest of the Beaver Woolen Mills. '.'t i'f Miss Helen Evans returned from Salt Lake City last Sunday. Miss Evans Ev-ans has been a pupil at Westminster College the past winter. Red Cross workers have been working work-ing hard every day and our citizens are responding very freely to help long this good cause. ft ft Erie Leaver, Hyrum Jensen and W. jj. Holliday and Archie Gilbert, all traveling salesmen, were registered at the Orton Hotel Wednesday. Miss Bortt Benson spent last wm! The siork has made several visits to our city the pat few days, leaving a girl at the home of Clark Orton and a boy at M. M Decker's and Edward Davis's. O "f Thursday evening the regular meeting meet-ing of the P. H. S. was held at the Public School building and the following follow-ing interesting program was given: Piano solo, Maude A. Renson. Speech, If. J. Mortenson. Duet, Alfred and Una Morris. Reading, Lillian Orton. A committee for the Fourth of July has been appointed by the City Coun ril. J. L. Lowder, Taylor Miller, Mrs. J. S. Brown, Mrs. Mary Marsden and Henry Oberhansley, with the last named as chairman, constitute the general committee. A number of subcommittees sub-committees have also been appointed and a good time is expected. Booth-Orton Wedding. Miss Lav-erne Orton, one of our popular pop-ular young ladies, and J. K. Booth of St. George were married last Monday evening at the home of the bride, President Wilford Day officiating. The happy couple left Wednesday morning for northern Utah, where Mr. Booth will engage in photo work. They were ccompaniod by their sister, sis-ter, Miss Evelyn Orton, who will visit vis-it for a short time with friends. |
