Show A BIG TIME AT FMRJBUHDS Fourth of July Committee Plans Bin Celebration for Independence In-dependence Day. BASE BALL, HORSE AND AUTOMOBILE RACING Good Program of Music and Sneaking at Tabernacle Entertainment for Old People. Grand Hall at Night. Following in brief is the program that haa been arranged for the observance ob-servance of Independence Day in Ce-dar Ce-dar City:' ' The populace will be awakened at sunrise with a salute of cannon to be fired by Samuel F. Leigh and Arthur Nelson. The local band which is now getting into good shape, will be out during the morning hours and will discourse patriotic music, while the people are preparing for and gathering at the meeting in the tabernacle to begin at 10 n. m., where the following program pro-gram wil be given: Program for Morning Meeting. A special program of moving pictures pic-tures has been arranged for at the Thorley Theatre beginning at 4 p. m. sharp, to which all persons over r0 years will he admitted free. A committee on transportation has also been provided for with a view to taking the aged people out for a spin about town. Big Time at Fair Grounds. The afternoon spoils and games are to be held at the Fair Grounds, and a lively program has been arranged for the occasion, as follows: Commencing at 2:110 p. m. Baseball, Cedar City vs. Lund. One-half mile saddle horse race. Purse $10.00; fee $2.00. One-fourth mile saddle horse race. Purse $10.00; fee $2.00. Fat man Ford race. Purse $5.00. One mile saddle horse novelty race. Purse $20.00; fee $4.00. Three-eights mile saddle horse race. Purse $1&00; fee $:!..r,0. Burro race, ridden by boyi 10 years and under. Purse $2.50. Grand ball in the evening, to which the customary price of admission will be chained. The committee and citizens of Cedur City extend a cordial invitation to the people of other settlements to come and celebrate with us. |
