LARGE PARTY OF NOTED PEOPLE FIRST CARAVAN Ml Return Enthusiastic Over the Scenic Wonders of Place and Report Trip of Their Liven. . As previously announced in these columns, a party of distinguished dis-tinguished tourists from the northern part of the state, in-eluding in-eluding Dr. 1. W. Middleton and other member of the Ensign Club, the party being chaperoned chaper-oned by William Warner of the S-ilt Like Route, arrived hero on the Kith inst. en route to .ion Canyon, on the maiden tiip since the park has been made accessible ac-cessible to tourist travel. The party included a number of Salt Lake'., prominent and influential influen-tial citizen, and comprised In al' 125 people. They came in from I.unil on I the regular .ion Canyon touring car.-and car.-and were transported by auto to the jWylie Camps, where they remained for two days inspecting the scenery and phenomena. They were also accompanied ac-companied from this place by Cr. and Mrs. A. N. Leonard and MBjAVylie of the camps One of the unusual diversion! in ilulged in by members of the party was a trip over the well known Plan-igan Plan-igan wire cable from the brink of the :!,000 feet perpendicular ledge to the floor of the canyon. On then return the tourists were enthusiastic over the trip, the splendid splen-did camps and the wondeVful scenery und predicted that Zion Canyon was sure to become immensely popular as I a resort for tourists. AJready Mr. Wylie has enquiries and reservations that insure his camps ! being kept fairly busy all through the season. |
