Show Trusts in No Danger. WashinKton, Nov. 23. Although there is a great deal of talk going around about what the Republicans intend to do in the way of anti-trust legislation at the coming session, the chances are that no legislation to this end will be enacted between Dec. 1 and March i next. This view is entertained by Representative Richardson of Tennessee, the Democratic leader in the house, and a man whose judgment is always conservative. "The Democrats stand ready to help the Republicans enact anti-trust legislation.'' legisla-tion.'' said Mr. Richardson today. "The administration can count upon us to support sup-port any reasonable measure to that end. I believe the Vote of the Democrats in the house will be unanimous in that regard. "But." he added, "I do not anticipate that the Republicans will make any serious se-rious attempt to strengthen the anti-trust laws. They will probably do nothing at the coming session, and probably nothing noth-ing in the next congress." - Asked if he favored tariff revision as a means of curbing the trusts, Mr. Richardson Rich-ardson replied: . "We are for a revision of the tariff, and should like to see it accomplished immediately, im-mediately, in compliance with , the great demand for such action from the country." |
