Show Largest Parish in the World. Chicago has the largest parish in the world, according to William E. Curtis in his daily letter in the Record-Herald. It is the Polish Catholic parish of St. Stanislaus Kostka, and at the latest enumeration, on Easter Sunday 1902, there were 31,300 communicants' representing at least 4,500 families. The parish covers about eight souare miles of territory. The church is situated at the corner of Noble and Ingraham streets, in the midst of the Polish colony. |
