The closing number was "When the Mists Have Cleared Away" by the choir. The grave in the cemetery was dedicated by Bishop Charles E. Gunnell of Logan. Van Leroy Jones was born at Salt Lake on Juw? 18, 1933 and is survived by his parents J. Pearl and Almeda Gunnell Jones and one brother and three sisters, sis-ters, J. Burke, Bertha Louise, Anna Lee and Bonnie Bell. Out of town relatives attending attend-ing the services besides the family fam-ily were Bishop . and Mrs. Chas. B. Gunnell, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Lor-enzo Gunnell, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buccannon all of Howell, Utah, Mr. and Mrs. Chas E. Gunnell, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Gunnell, Leo Gunnell. Mrs. S. B. Mitton of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and family, Leroy Jones. Funeral Held Wednesday For Drown Victim Wellsville Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Second ward chapel for Van LeRoy Gunnell Jones, fifteen month old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Pearl Jones, of Salt Lake who was drowned in a water trough back of their house Monday at eleven o'clock while the family were engaged in a game of ball. The body was brought here Tuesday to the home of his grandmother, the late Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Jones, where it lay in state until Wednesday until time for the services. The pallbearers were: Leo Gunnell, Dean Maughan, Mack Jones and Ricy W. Jones who carried the remains to the chapel. The flowers were beautiful and were carried by eight little cousins with Miss Hazel Jones and Miss Marie Maughan in charge. The music was by the ward choir with Miss Gladys Hill in charge, assisted by Miss Gayle Berry at the organ. Bishop Evan H. Bankhead was in charge of the services which began by the choir singing, "Your Sweet Little Rosebud has left You", with Mrs. Geneva Murray as soloist. Prayers were by Geddes Maughan and Evan O. Darley. Those speaking words of comfort com-fort and consolation to the family fam-ily were President John C. Brenchley, Miss Barbara Maughan Bishop Tracey Y. Cannon of the Cannon ward of which Mr. and Mrs. Jones are members and Bishon E. H. Bankhead who also |
