Show Timely Subject Is Theme of Film One of the timeliest of subjects sub-jects forms the background theme for the tensely dramatic picture, "Tomorrow's Children" which comes to the Lyric Theatre. Based on an actual happening in one of the larger cities of the United States, in a state where sterilization laws exist, "Sterilization" "Sterili-zation" is a tense, gripping drama This picture, according to manager of the Lyric Theatre, does not take sides with either those who assail sterilization of the unfit nor supporters of the movement, but rather, concerns itself with telling a straight-forward dramatic story in which the near sterilization of an innocent in-nocent girl brings tragedy perilously per-ilously close to an entire family. Sterilization today is one of the most widely discussed and controversial of political subjects and in the motion picture, "Tomorrow's "To-morrow's Children," there is much food for thought, according accord-ing to those who have seen the picture previewed. Whether or not sterilization is the correct method for improv-j ing the human race, the fact re- mains that at this time there are j 27 states in the Union which) have sterilization laws while at least five foreign countries have similar statutes. The Hitler regime, which caused caus-ed a mild tempest of world-wide scope recently by the announcement announce-ment that plans were under way for the sterilization of 400,000 "unfit" or congenitally ill persons, per-sons, is only one example of the serious amount of thought which is being given to this subject which is great in scope as civilization civil-ization and which will have a more far reaching effect on the future of the world than any single innovation for the im-I im-I provement of mankind since the beginning of time. |
