Show lions Club Race Meet Hailed Big Success Bob Smith, president of the Panguitch Lion's Club, acclaimed this years Lion's Club Race Meet as a total success. He said that more than 800 people came out in shirtsleeve shirt-sleeve weather to enjoy the spec-I spec-I tacle, an annual event. i More than 150 advertisers helped with the cost of the programs and ; researching the horses' past per-I per-I formances. The Friday, July il meet featured I nine races, while the Saturday, July 12 featured 10. Friday's first race was won by j Easy Winken with Easy Van Lamb capturing place spot and Dee Dee Mia the show horse. The second race was captured by Brandman, with Friendly Gift placing and the show slot was taken by Picadilly Girl. Third race finishers for straight, place and show were Par, Lettuce Win, and Model Man. Tabasco Thyme won the fourth race, with I'm Mr. Hill taking second and Kumpania Call breezing to third. Cover The Ground covered the ground for the win in the fifth race, I Kumpanially placed and the show horse was Gator 0. Kiptys Beau garnered at the win in the sixth with Easy Sleeper taking the place slot and Bestlit-tlesavannah Bestlit-tlesavannah capturing third. Seventh race winner was Midnight Moon, second was Elag with Zante Royal showing. Friday's eighth and final race was won by Beau Streeker, Brand of Breeze was the placer and the show honors went to Uno Fire Sam. Saturday's first race held a sur prise when Winken Dash and Linkadoo tied for first place. Re Rainy Cloud was the show horse. Saturday's second race Pleasasnt Affair, Prohibition, and Direct Current coming to the wire in that order. Pleasant Discovery was a pleasant discovery by winning the third race with Fleetest Native and Van Duke following. Fourth race saw Cinder Buster as winner, with Native Searcher second and Onieco third. Cooks Last Chance got a better rating by capturing a first place win in the fifth race. Star Hope placed and the show horse was Don-creedcliff. Don-creedcliff. The sixth race, a four horse entry, was won by Tough Survivor, with Exalted Jen second and Mach Gold finishing in the show slot. Knight Walker walked away with a first place win in the seventh race, while Misty Maid took second place being tagged to the wire by Startled Deer. In the eighth race Garfield Ben won in Garfield County, with Let's Go Freddy second and Skidder Ridge skidding in third. Ninth race first place honors went to Amalga, with Dolce Talk swept second with Never Challenge a challenge at third. The tenth and final race of the meet was won by Moon Sun, with Van Deek taking place honors with Vela Bay marked for show. |
