Show Former Garfield Resident Ends Banking Service June Van Hemert, formerly of Escalante and Panguitch, retired recently after 16 years with Security Pacific National Bank in Montrose, Calif. Born in Panguitch, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Errol Dowdell, she married Stanley Liston of Escalante in 1945 and moved to Escalante where she lived for 23 years. She became a postal clerk for eight years with Wayne Barney. In 1967 she moved to Glendale, Calif., remarried and entered the banking field. At retirement, she held the title of bank specialist at Security Pacific. Today she divides her time between bet-ween volunteer work at the Montrose Mon-trose Convalescent Hospital where her mother Nettie Dowdell resides and frequent visits to her family, from Seattle to Albuqeurque, N.M. and in between. Her husband Tony is a technical writer employed in the aerospace industry. Daughter Lana Ford of LaCanada, Calif, and Brad Liston of North Hollywood, Calif, reside nearby. A second daughter Lois Houston lives in Sandy, Utah. |
