Show Danny Ipson Academy Names Ipson As Award Winner The United States Achievement Academy announced this week that Danny Ipson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Ipson, has been named a 1985 United States National Award winner in basketball. Danny, who attends Panguitch Middle School, is an honor roll student who was nominated for the award by his basketball coach, Kay Englestead. The award is a prestigous honor few students achieve and one received by less than 10 percent of high school students. The academy selects USAA winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors or other school sponsors and upon the standards of selection set forth by the academy. The criteria for seleciton are a student's academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, citizenship, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability, and recommendation from a teacher or director. Danny's grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Layton Barney of Hatch and the late Don Ipsons of Panguitch. |
