Show Hatch Happenings Velma Huntington The Independence Day celebration was well attended by local folks and out-of-town friends. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. David Sawyer were the Kurt Sawyers and Kent Sawyers, Cedar City. They all went to Fish Lake in Wayne County and made the circle on around by Boulder and reported a fun tour. Visiting at the Sawyers were the Ken Roberts, Antimony. Visiting Velma Huntington were the Darol Allreds, Washington City; the Lloyd Allreds, Plainview, Tex.; and Janet Houston, Beaver. Fred Houston was out fighting forest fires. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dix, April Dix and Kristy Barabas, Panguitch and Coleene Morrill and Monica Morrill, Nevada. Velma Huntington was sustained as ward public relations director in church and Trenton Fagg was sustained and ordained a teacher in the priesthood. Buster Evans visited in Salt Lake City with his family, his wife Roma, Faye Evans, Penney Evans, his grandson Michael Evans and Nicole Evans and Natalie Evans, Salt Lake City visited Buster over the holidays here. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jourdan are Terry Messer and Maria Bresse, Bell Garden, Calif. Kimberly Dalton and Heidi Dalton visited the Grant Daltons and the Lee Syphuses. Hope Dalton accompanied Shannon Clark, Kanab; Shawnee Clark and Jennifer Merrill to a Girl Scout Camp in the mountains near Park City. They also visited in Salt Lake City with Mae Swapp. The Daltons brought Heidi Dalton back with them to visit them this week. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bob Evans is her mother Daisy Johnson. The Mike Evans, Lakeside, Ariz, visited them over the holidays. When they returned home they left Amy and Bobbie here to visit a few weeks. Our town welcomes the new assistant superintendent at the Mammoth Fish hatchery Mr. and Mrs. Ben (Virginia) Giles, Heber and their children, Christina, Bonnie, John and Jimmy. Jerry Law visited Jeremle Salyards in Grand Lake, Colo. Jerry reports a fun trip with Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Barnhurst and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barnhurst on their motorcycles to Loa, Bicknell and around the circle to Boulder county and home. The Austin Barnhursts, Nev. are here at their summer cottage. Jerry Law and Bill Shaffer went to Mesquite, Nev. to check on their property there. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Workman, Cedar City visited relatives and friends here during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Campbell, St. George are visiting the Gary Faggs and her mother Effel Riggs. The Kenneth Barneys, Clearfield visited the Lamar Barneys, Friday and Saturday. They all enjoyed a fishing trip near Boulder mountain. The Mervin Barnhursts attended church in Tropic. Visiting Lilith Wilson were the Russell Wilsons, Delta; the Richard Wilsons and the Karl Wilsons, St. George; Janae Wilson, Layton and Linda Wilson, Logan. Dan Burrows, scoutmaster and Robbie Brown assistant scoutmaster and 11 boy scouts of Lehi spent Sunday night on the town park enroute to spend a week at Thun-derbird Scout Camp, near Brian Head. They visited Effel Riggs, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Evans while here. |
