Departing Aerial Fletcher, who has served as a councilman under two mayors, was honored and given a huge vote of thanks by Mayor Holley and grateful community members Thursday evening. He was presented with a beautifully bound "Missionary Diary" before leaving for an 18-month mission in the California Sacrament IDS Mission. He and wife Mandy left Friday morning to visit son Larry and family prior to entering the Missionary Training Center, Oct. 11. It was delightful to note the town spirit shown at a town council nomination meeting held Thursday at the community center. Twenty people attended each vying to put their candidates name in nomination for the two councilman positions. There were six names presented: Joe Thorn pson, John Matthews, Roy Willis, Hank Henderson, Lonnie Pollock, and Norm LeFevre. Photos and letters have been received by Bishop Clele and Marva Fletcher from daughter Sandra Wright and family of their lovely new home and surroundings in Charlottesville, VA. They are moving there from Chicago, 111. Bishop and Marva Fletcher had a nice, but short visit with son, Rex, wife Leslie and two small granddaughters in Salt Lake City. |
