Show Candidates Named In County Communities Mass meetings were held in each community in Garfield county during the past week providing a slate f candidates for the November 6 election. Boulder's candidates are Vard Coombs, Mark Nelson, and Ivan Lyman. Current officers are Vivan Crosby, Mayor, board member Madelyn Haws, and outgoing town members, Donna Jean Wilson, Larry Davis and Dora Wright. Cannonville has six candidates vying for two positions on its town board: Elmer Henderson, Norm LeFevre, John Matthews, Lonnie Pollock, Joe Thompson, and Roy Willis. MayOr is Laurie Dea Holley, with town board members Jim Clarke and David Evans and outgoing town board members Aerial Fletcher and Joe Thompson. Four candidates are nominated for Escalante's two council posts: Wayne Bank, John Foster, Arthur Lyman, and Theron Mitchell. Mayor is Dale Marsh, with council members William R. Griffin and Helen Shurtz and outgoing council members Arthur Lyman and Theron Mitchell. Hatch's candidates are Richard Perry, Wiley Huntington, Lynn Evans and Harry York. Mayor is Karl Lowder with town board members Mervin Barnhurst and Robert Evans and outgoing town board members Lynn Evans and Harry York. Henrieville's slate of four candidates include Virginia Johnson, Louise Patterson, Wayne Reynolds, and Kay Willis. Outgoing town board members are Bob Willis and Wayne Reynolds with board members remaining Dennis Johnson and Ken Piatt along with Mayor David Rose. Panguitch nominees are Rick Bur-ningham, Jim Hatch, and Frand Houston vying for three available positions. Mayor is Wallace Lee and councilmen are Charlie Allen and Art Crosby with outgoing councilmen Jim Hatch, Frank Houston, and Jon Torgerson. Doug Ahlstrom and Katie Thomas have been nominated in Tropic to fill the offices of outgoing city council members Lowell Mecham and Jin Thomas. Remaining on the council will be Reed LeFevre and Paul Mangum with Mondell Syreth, mayor. |
