Show Twins Get Award The 15-year-old twin sons f former Pangultch resident, Alice Brewer Priest, whose father was a former owner of the Garfield Countv News, recently became the first set of twins to receive their Eagle Scout award together In their council area in Salem, Ore. Roger and Rodney Priest, grandsons of D.H. Collins, Pangultch, both of whom feel that scouting's merit badge program "prepares us for life" by providing glimpses into many possible careers, come from a scouting family. Both father Vail, counselor for 10 merit badges related to mechanical and farm subjects, and mother Alice, counselor for 25 different badges, agree the scouting movement has added quality to their lives. Brother Glenn, 19, in the Army now is an "almost" Eagle, while brother Carl, 18, In the Navy, is also an Eagle Scout Brother John, IS, is a Star scout, and Christopher, 11, Is a Tenderfoot There are, In addition, scouts among the married brothers and sisters, Louis, Beverly Parker, and David. Little sister Misty 9, looks up with pride to her "scouting" brothers and lends moral support. The older twin Roger, (he was born 7 minutes before Rodney) has 28-merit badges while his look-alike has 27. Not to be outdone, however, the younger twin has grown an extra one-fourth inch. Both are members of Explorer Post 18 Search and Rescue unit and are active members of the LDS Church. They will soon be honored again as they have recently been chosen to receive the coveted Order of the Arrow. |
