Show Bryce Visitors Numbers Down In September BRYCE CANYON The number of visitor to Bryce Canyon National Park during September was down 26-percent according to Supt. Thomas 0. Hobbs. A total of 74,500 persons visited the park during the month. Visitation for the first nine months of 1979 has declined 17-percent with 512,000 visitors recorded. Bryce Canyon Lodge, the camper store and the service station are closed, but accommodations and' services outside the park remain open through the winter. A section of north campground will be open to camping until the first heavy snow. The park visitor center will remain open 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. daily. The fall colors in the park are now at peak and there is excellent weather for hiking and touring. |
