Show Page - THE HERALD, Frovo, Utah, 20 Sunday, December 11, 1983 Weather Report "It's pretty typical of December." said meteorologist Nolan Duke of the National Weather Service. "You have thunderstorms in the south, rain in the Midwest and snow and freezing rain in the Upper Midwest." Four people died in an Ohio plane crash and an Iowa woman died in an accident on an icy highway. No victims were reported from the Texas tornadoes. A pilot and three paramedics who took off in foggy conditions to aid a heart attack victim on a Lake Erie island Friday night apparently died when their plane crashed into the water. "When they left the visibility was very low," said Petty Officer Chris Keogan. "This guy (the pilot) has been flying around the islands for awhile. He was a pretty experienced pilot, but the ceiling was real low," said Keogan. Searchers Saturday discovered only a life jacket and an oil slick in the water. "We have spotted no survivors," said a Coast Guard spokesman. Central Utah Summary Ciiy Yesterday Precip. Alpine .10 Fairheld tr. Heber Orem .PI.
