Show Jo Ann Fryer JoAnn Wagner Fryer, 44, of Lin-don, Lin-don, died Friday, May 18, 1984, of injuries in-juries sustained .in an automobile accident. ac-cident. She was born Sept. 26, 1939 in Concord, Con-cord, Tenn. to Harry Joseph and Ada Whited Wagner. She married Arnold Nicholas in Dec. 1958. He died Dec. 21, 1961. She , married Reese Fryer on July 19, 1980 in the Provo Temple of The Church of i Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had lived in New Jersey and attended schools there. She was a convert ' ' "- -to the LDS Church and moved to Utah in 1 978. She was active ac-tive in geneological work and taught Relief Society and Sunday School and served as ward librarian. She worked at Pleasant Grove High School in the school lunch program. Survivors include her husband of Lin- - don; three daughters and a son: Mrs. Tung (Christine) Le, Salt Lake; Michael Nicholas, Orem; Melanie Willis, Lin-don; Lin-don; April Lynn Nicholas, Salt Lake; three- step-sons and two-step daughters, Mrs. Neal (Marcia) Chad-wick, Chad-wick, American Fork; Troy Fryer, Brian Fryer, and Dannielle Fryer, all of Orem;Lance Fryer, Lindon; her mother of Bridgeport, New Jersey; her father . of New Jersey; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Robert Wagner, Wanda Wagner, Mary Wagner, Henry Wagner, Helen Biondi, Jancie Cessna, Ester McQuaid, and Judy Smith, all of New Jersey, i . Services were held Monday in Lindon. Lin-don. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. He was born June 24, 1921 in Monarch, Wyo., to Harry P. and Iva Moody Gavos. He married Oriya Hasimoto, June 18, 1964, in Billings, Mont. The ' marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was educated in Wyoming schools. He worked with the CC'sfor three years. He lived in Ogden for three years and then moved to Billings untill 1976 when I he moved to Orem. " " " While in Montana he worked as a truck, driver for the United Buckingham. He worked as Signetics in Orem for four years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the LDS Church, Orem 41st Ward. He was a Seventies Seven-ties Group leader. High Priest secretary and Elder's Quorum president. Survivors include his wife of Orem; two sons and three daughters: Richard Sipe, Tucson, Ariz.; David Sipe, Billings, Mont.; Mrs. Doug (Orinii) Ackroyd and Susan Gavos, both of Orem; Mrs. Larry (Linda) Webber, Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren; one sister: Bernice M athis, Cheyene, Wyo. Pomeroy, 83, of Orem, Utah, died Sunday, May 20, 1984 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. He wa$ born April 20, 1091 in Mesa.rizona, a son of Elijah and Sarah Lucretia Phelps Pomeroy. He married Helen De Lucia on September Septem-ber 19, 1943 in Killeen, Texas. The marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple. ; He was an attorney-at-law and practiced in California and Arizona. He was active in service organizations, a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served ser-ved as Department Commander of the VFW. He was active in Scouting for most of his life and was awarded the Silver Beaver. He was a member of the LDS Church, Chur-ch, was a High Priest and served in many capacities in the Church. He has been very involved in Temple Work over the past few years. He is survived by his wife, of Orem; three sons, Marion Pomeroy, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Loren Pomeroy, Salt Lake City, Utah; Gary Pomeroy, Laurence, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; gran-dchildren; two half sisters, Jetta Tyrrel, lone Johnson, both of Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by three daughters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 23, 1984 at 12 noon in the Orem LDS 24th Ward, 250 Kast 200 North, Orem. He married Marva McNeil on February 15 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple.. M r. Karns spent his early years and received his early education in Cedar City. He graduated from Orem High School and later attended the Utah Technical School in Provo, graduating with an associate degree : in refrigeration. He joined and spent a short time in the U.S. Navy before receiving a medical discharge. He worked for a time as a parts man for Hradshaw Auto and was employed at Deseret Industries in refrigeration. He was a High Priest in the Orem 21st Ward. He has actively served previously in Scouting as a Cub 6nd Scoutmaster. He served a Stake M ission in Colorado Springs, Co. Mr. Karns spend fifteen years as a volunteer for the Orem SCERA Theatre as a doorman. He is survived by his wife of Orem, 3 sons and 2 daughters: Elder Brian Karns, serving in San Juan Puerto Rico Mission, Bardley H. Karns, Burton M. Karns, Brenda Karns and Becki Karns, all of Orem; his mother of Orem and 1 brother, George N. Karns of St. George. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Thur-sday, May 24, 1984 at 1 1:00 a.m. in the Orem LDS 21st Ward Chapel, 50 South 750 West, Orem.
