The position received over 47 inquiries, and is possible due to a matching grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, through the Utah Arts Council, and Park City. Charnes, a resident of Park City, has been an Account Executive at Dering and Associates Advertising Agency since moving to Park City two and one half years ago. She has a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Chicago, where she interned for Lawyers for the Creative Arts writing grants and analyzing policy. Charnes was Director of Alumni Relations at the University of Pennsylvania Law School for three and one half years, has served on various boards in Philadelphia and Chicago as a fundraiser, and was recently "Louise" in Park City Performances My Husbaand's Wild Desires Almost Drove Me Mad. The Park City Foundation for Arts and Humanitie has planned a Season Series of eight performances annually in Park City and expects to experience continued growth as a cultural consortium in Park City. The Park 1 director City Arts Council will be a liason with the City Council on planning cultural activities in Park City, and will also network with local, regional, national and international arts agencies. The foundation, established in 1987 by pianist Claudia Ward is, according to Ward, an "agency and arts council that will be able to more effectively serve the expanding cultural needs and interests of Park City, and be an ever increasing advocate for private and public support of the arts and humanities," said Ms. Ward.
