Show 7 2007 Sterling Scholar competition results The Duchesne County School District had one winner and five runners-lip in the region Sterling Scholar competition competi-tion held at Roosevelt Junior High School on Tuesday, April 17. Pictured from left to right are: Marissa Labrum (Dance Sterling Scholar, Union), Reed Page (Mathematics runner up, Union), Stephanie Taylor (Business and Marketing runner up, Union), Jessica Paul (General Scholarship runner up, Duchesne), Chelsea Herrera (English runner up, Duchesne) and Kenyon Abbott ( Computer Technology runner up, Duchesne). , Uintah High School claimed two Sterling Ster-ling Scholar winners and six runners up at the region competition at Roosevelt Roos-evelt Junior High School on Tuesday, April 17. The two winners were Ryan Sam (Music) and Bo Harris (Business and Marketing). The six runners up were Brett Nielson (Visual Arts), Jessica Jes-sica Wallis (Foreign Language), Emily Henderson (Family and Consumer Sciences), Kayla Batty (Trade and Technical Education), Jennifer Daniel (Speech and Drama), and Parker Hu-ber Hu-ber (General Scholarship). Utah State University Uintah Basin had cowboys and cowgirls from eight colleges, Utah Valley State College, Idaho State University, College of Southern Idaho, Utah State University, Weber State, Salt Lake Community College, Boise State, Dixie College, take part in its annual collegiate rodeo, last month at Western Park in Vernal in front of a packed crowd of supporters. Events held were bareback, saddle bronc riding, breakaway, calf, team roping; rop-ing; steer wrestling, goat tying, barrel racing and bull riding. Competitors came from Utah and Idaho. Stock contractor was Broken Heart and judges were Wade Woolsten-hulme, Woolsten-hulme, Harley Downs. Timers were Sharon Alldredge and Nicole Hawkins with Lewis Feild and Matt Twitchell as pickup men.
