In addition, applications were also received from students in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ten-nessee, Idaho, and Washington. In the initial year of the Ener-gySolutions Ener-gySolutions Foundation Scholarship Scholar-ship Program the Foundation received an impressive 1,032 scholarship applications from 118 high schools across Utah. Students selected will receive a $2,000 scholarship to students interested in earningabachelor's degree in math, science, or engineering. The scholarship program was open to 10th grade students interested in a career in math or science. This is an excellent opportunity for the Foundation to act locally and get results on a global scale," Fraser Bullock, Chairman of the Foundation Foun-dation Board. "We recognize the need our nation has for a well trained workforce and this is a great vehicle to promote that," said Bullock. The scholarship recipients will be honored at abanquet April 27, in Salt Lake City. The keynote speaker for the banquet will be Michael Benson, President of Southern Utah University. The scholarship program began in October 2006. The application period for 2008 applicants will be available starting in October 2007. It was National Library Li-brary Week, and it was also this Stanton Road closure advisory The Stanton Road, northeast artery between Bonanza and Rangley, will be closed from Monday, April 30 through Friday, May 11, 2007. No detour is available avail-able as the Uintah County Road Department will be re-decking a bridge over an old mine shaft. Users of the Stanton Road are asked to find an alternate route for the two weeks of road work. Bal Laura Simper received a check awarded by the 4-H Horse Council for her graphic design for the Utah' State 4-H Horse Show. Lori Gillman and Laura Simper show the winning logo as the check is presented by 4-H Coordinator Peggy Marshall. . "A Uintah High School student, Laura Simper, designed the winning logo to be used on hats, shirts and publicity for this year's Utah State 4-H 4-H Horse Show.
