Show Music teachers convention Utah music teachers will gather at Utah State University Nov. 9 and 10 to attend the annual Utah Music Teachers Association (UMTA) Music Convention. Teachers from across the state will attend classes, demonstrations, workshops and recitals by world class artists and lecturers. This is a conference for professional profes-sional music instructors of both vocal and instrumental music. It is estimated that 45 percent of the population along the Wasatch front are taking or have taken music lessons of some kind, j The convention will be held at USU in the Chase Fine Arts center. Dr. Nelita True of the Eastman I School of Music is the convention artist. She will give a concert, master-class and lecture. Also featured will be workshops and lectures by USU faculty Gary Amano and James Drake and Janet Mann from the University of Utah. Michael Ballam of USU is the keynote speaker who will address this year's themethe Magic of Music. All music teachers throughout the state are invited to the convention. conven-tion.
