For some students it started long ago. For example, the Vykelles under the direction of Kara Fadell, have practiced summer mornings from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and according to sources "they're looking sharp." The cheerleaders have also put in long morning hours. They attended the University of Utah cheerleading camp and received the "Key To Spirit Award, the highest award given for the second year in a row. Their advisor, Tony Bauman, commented that they are "so good' this year because they have great attitudes. The cheerleaders can certainly help make the year successful. For all you football fans, you might be interested to know that conditioning is paying off, spirits are high, and adrenaline is pumping. pump-ing. Why?? you might ask. With Paiger Addams as head coach and Natasha Tilley as assistant coach, the season looks extremely promising. Soccer, soccer, soccer, that's what some of the girls from Viewmont View-mont have on their minds. Under the coaching staff of Richard Cook, head, William Veal, assistant, and Kay Smith, assistant, the team has put in their share of hours, practicing practic-ing and conditioning. On Thursday, the 23rd, they play at Ben Lomond at 4 p.m.; then Friday the 24th, at 4 p.m. at Bountiful Junior High they take on the East High Panthers. Lastly (but most importantly) we'd like you to know...the PIT CREW is back and in full force. Steve Edgley, student relations officer, offi-cer, has been busy organizing and planning. The pit crew will be the official booster club this year, with formal registration that will enable pit crew members to receive special recognition recogni-tion and discounts to many activities. ac-tivities. As part of registration the official pit crew car and t-shirt will be handed out. For you faithful game goers this year will bring a spirit car that will lead off the crew from tailgate parties. Listen and watch carefully for pit crew announcements and register. The class with the most members registered will get the awesome opportunity op-portunity of painting the spirit rock for the school to view. So everyone prepare...the pit crew is back!
