Show League of Women Voters urges voters to register register again. Registration must include a valid address. Voters who have missed voting in more than one general election must register again. A voter who is disabled or will be . absent from the county on election day may vote absentee if the county clerk receives the application 20 days before the election for an overseas voter, the Friday before the election for a voter within the United States, and the Monday before the election for a voter voting at the county clerk's office. Absent-voter ballots must be clearly postmarked the day before the election. Nelda Bishop, League of Women Voters services chair, emphasized that this year's Primary Election is especially important because many county and legislative races have only Republican candidates so the Primary Election determines the final winner. Four countywide offices of-fices have unopposed candidates, the offices of county recorder, county coun-ty assessor, county surveyor and county attorney. The Davis County League of Women Voters reminds voters that they must register before the election. elec-tion. Voters who did not register at the Davis County Clerk's office before Aug. 21 may register with their neighborhood registration agent between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Sept. 4, 5 and 6. For the final election on Nov. 6, voters can register in person with the Davis County Clerk before Oct. 1 6, by mailing in registration forms to reach the county clerk by Oct. 16, or with their neighborhood registration registra-tion agent Oct. 30 or 31 or Nov. 1. Mail-in registration forms should be available at libraries, banks, city office buildings and the post office. Neighborhood registration agent names and addresses are posted on telephone poles in the neighborhood at registration time. Voting requirements state that the voter must be a United States citizen, must be a resident of Utah for at least 30 days immediately preceding the next election, must be 18 years old by the next election, and must have a principal place of residence in a specific voting district.
