Show Hill is supplying support to Middle East units manager for all conventional air munitions, solid prope Hants and explosive ex-plosive services used throughout the Air Force. Support is provided to virtually every Air Force installa tion around the world by providing such things as landing gear, wheels and brakes, photographic and reconnaissance equipment, flight simulators and training devices. HILL AFB Ogden Air Logistics Center has sent support people and provided supplies to units deployed to the Middle East, according to a news release furnished by the U. S. Air Force. " As the U. S. has increased its troop strength here in response to the Iraqui invasion of Kuwait, activities ac-tivities at Hill AFB are centered around giving the highest priority to the logistics support of the operation opera-tion and to the United States Air Force units deployed, base officials said. This support includes prioritization prioritiza-tion and increased activity of Hill's normal logistics mission requirements. re-quirements. Examples of increased activity include shipment of supplies sup-plies and munitions to units prior to departing from their home base. - In response to any crisis situation that requires support from the Ogden ALC, the center's staff reviews inventory requirements and works closely with suppliers to assure a steady acquisition of materials mate-rials and supplies is maintained. This support helps insure aircraft, missile and support systems area at the highest level of operational readiness. Military and civilian workers in the Directorate of Distribution are making additional shipments through the air terminal in support of the operation. Hill stocks and supplies more than 1.2 million items in support of various weapon systems. The primary modes of transporting the items would be truck nd air transportation including approximately 10-12 LOG AIR flights in an average day. LOG AIR is a military cargo transportation network. The Ogden Air Logistics Center provides logistics and maintenance support for some of this country's most advanced weapon systems. The base is responsible for managing manag-ing and repairing the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the F-4 Phantom fighter. In addition it manages and provides logistical support for the Peacekeeper and Minuteman missiles miss-iles and repairs the Maverick missile miss-ile system. The center is the logistics |
