Show ISO performs By TIFFANY DRAUGHON Student Reporter On Jan. 7 a concert was given by the Utah Symphony Orchestra for the students of Mueller Park Junior High. The pieces that were played were all written to represent "Leading Ladies and Leading Men" found in movies, operas and ballets. Before they were played, the students were told who the piece was portraying, and often a story accompanied this information. Among the pieces heard were Prokofiev's "The Young Juliet" from "Romeo and Juliet," John Williams' theme from "E.T.," and Tchaikovsky's "Waltz" from "Sleeping Beauty." This concert not only let the students experience music unfamiliar un-familiar to them, but it also gave them the chance to hear the story 1 the song. |
