Show Centerville City A-OK, audit of books for 1991 reveals By TOM HARALDSEN Clipper Correspondent CENTERVILLE An audit of Centerville City's fiscal 1991 revenues and expenditures for the year ended June 30, 1991 reveals that the city is doing a good job of managing its money. The firm of Sellers, Ulrich and Associates of Salt Lake City conducted con-ducted an audit of the city's books and concluded in a report to the city council that "the city as a whole has been very conscientious in following appropriate policies and procedures to safeguard and protect resources.' Of particular interest was the CPA firm's audit of general fund revenues and expenditures for the year. In each department, revenues outweighed expenditures, meaning the city lived within its budget revenues. Expenditures for general government Qegislative, judicial, executive and finance) totalled $579,116, about $13,935 lower than budgeted. Public safety expenditures expen-ditures totalled $552,046, which is $20,131 lower than budgeted. Likewise, public works spending was $3,507 below budget, and parks and recreation spending, including in-cluding cemetery and government buildings, totalled $3,772 less than the budgeted amount. In all, expenditures expen-ditures were down nearly $97,000 compared to budgeted amounts. Capital Project Funds finished in the black by $149,553, in spite of nearly $210,000 in expenditures from the fund for improvements in the city. The report stated that Centerville City complied with all requirements for government accounting, and was received enthusiastically by the council members. |
