Show David A. Beers ; David Allan Beers, 23, died May 19, 1988 while pursuing his lifelong life-long goal of becoming a commercial commer-cial pilot. He was born Nov. 25, 1964 in Bountiful, the son of Norman Leroy and Nina Carr Beers. He married Melanie Arlene Lassig June 25, 1987 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and 'hey are expecting their first child. David attended Davis County schools and graduated from View-mont View-mont High School with honors. While attending Viewmont, he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Jazz Band. He was an Eagle Scout and was awarded one Palm. David was an expert rifleman and an avid target shoo- ter. He loved the out-of-doors, wa- i ter skiing, hunting, snowmobiling, ' camping, and fishing with friends and family. He was an active member of the LDS Church and filled a mission to Leeds, England, where he served 1 as a district and zone leader. He was in the Elders Quorum pres-! pres-! idency of the Centerville 18th Ward. He and his wife were Prim- ! ary teachers together. I He attended Army basic training I at Fort Sill, Okla., and later changed to the Air Force. David , was a fuel systems specialist on fighter jets for the 405th Combat Logistics Support Squadron at Hill Air Force Base. He just recently received the prestigious Airman of the Year Award. DAVID ALLAN BEERS Survivors include his wife, Melanie, parents, Norman and Nina; brother and sisters, Matthew, Matth-ew, Annette, Marianne, all of Centerville; Cen-terville; Carolyn, North Salt Lake, Janet, Marjorie, Bountiful, and Mrs. Michael (Valerie) Shaw of West Bountiful; grandparents, Vernon and Violet Carr, Helen Beers, all of Centerville; also mother and father-in-law, Klaus and Arlene Lassig, brothers-in-law, David, Chris, and sister-in-law Jenae. Funeral services were held May 25 at the Centerville 5th Ward. |
