Wright receives Phillips Petro. scholarship Michael H. Wright, Jr., a senior at Woods Cross High School, has been selected to receive a college scholarship worth $4,000 from the Educational Fund for Children of Phillips Petroleum Company Employees. Em-ployees. The winner may use the scholarship scholar-ship to attend any accredited college col-lege or university of his choice. Michael is the son of Michael and Kathleen Wright, North Salt Lake. Selected as an alternate was Maria Staples, a senior at View-mont View-mont High School, Bountiful. She is the daughter of Max and Gaye Staples, Bountiful. As in past years, Phillips this year awarded 66 scholarships and named 30 alternates, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the company's scholarship fund. Each winner will receive a $1,000 award renewable yearly based on scholastic achievement, for a four-year total scholarship of $4,000. More than 300 students applied ap-plied for scholarships this year.
