Show High school PTA members air school problems Hal Clyde presented an outstanding out-standing talk at the Springville High School PTA meeting held last Wednesday night under the direction of President Eileen Bird. Mr. Clyde addressed the parents regarding communications communica-tions between parents, students and teachers. Following the opening assembly, assem-bly, the group assembled into seven different units where the following topics brought out information helpful to parents, faculty and students attending: attend-ing: fl) To what extent are students capable of self government? govern-ment? (2) Is special help available avail-able for students? (3) Is 'study hall used wisely? (4) How serious ser-ious are troubles after ball games? (5) What about all night parties at school after graduation? (6) How can we ave better support from parents par-ents for school activities, ball games, plays, etc? (7) What about the drug problems in our area? (8) Legislative Education Educa-tion Program. Mapleton Troop 66 presented the colors for the program and special music was furnished by the girls' chorus and the orchestra or-chestra under the direction of David Thayne and Harmon Hatch, respectively. In the discussion dis-cussion groups led by various assigned parents, there were also teacher consultants and student consultants to assist. The next meeting of the high school PTA will be held in April, President Bird announced There were some 200 attending the PTA and plans are going forward to increase this considerably con-siderably for the next meeting, Mrs. Bird stated. Berton Groesbeck has been named treasurer of the Springville Spring-ville High School Art Association Associa-tion following a board meeting held Tuesday night at the gallery. gal-lery. Retiring from the position is Eldon Reese who has served 26 years as an assistant treasurer treas-urer and subsequently treasurer. |
