Show Mapleton News Mrs. Blake Everett A piano recital for students of Joan Marrott was held in the Mapleton Relief Society Room Saturday evening, featuring fea-turing the theme, "Around the World." Students played music mu-sic representative of the various var-ious countries. Taking part were Kyle and Pam Roylance, Bradley and Melanie Allan, Madeleine Rogers, Rog-ers, Terry Gotfredson, Lori James, Scott Allan, Peggy Gordon, Karen and Merri Ann Mairott. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gividen t and family returned a week ago from a trip to Buna, Texas, x where they visitel with her f parents, Mr and Mrs. Cryer. Nan Franklin, a student at the BYTJ, who lives in Texas, made the trip with them to visit her family. Mr. Gividen and his children went to Houston to see the Astrodome. They also took a tour of the space center, and saw astronauts Cooper and Chiraud. On the trip home, the Givi-dens Givi-dens left Louie Charlie, the Indian In-dian boy who has lived with them for many years, at his home in Holbrook, Arizona, for the summer months. Several Mapleton families served as hosts to a group of young people who came to Utah from Boytown Ward in Texas, for June Conference. Bishop and Mrs. Harold Gividen Givi-den made arrangements for this group while they were in Texas. They spent Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday in Mapleton. In addition to the Gividens, those who were hosts, were: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bartholomew, Mr. and Mrs. Don Erdmann, Mr .and Mrs. George Sorenson, Bishop and Mrs. Norman Graves and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Brown. Firemen's auxiliary meeting was held at the home of Eunice Eu-nice Poulson, June 12. Wayne Dubois, marriage councelor and advisor was the guest speaker for the evening. He spoke on marriage problems and teenage behavior. LaRue Bird, Cleola Evans and Mrs. Poulson were hostesses. Mr. Norris Binks was guest of honor at the home of his son, Blair Binks at Bountiful on Sunday. It was for his birthday as well as Father's Day. Most of the Binks family was present. |
