"k . . - , I S m 4 SEE THE WORLD Larry, Lindon and Kurt Roundy, left ' to right, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Don Roundy of Mapleton, are seeing the world together on the same ship in the Navy. Mapleton men, brothers, serve together Larry, Lynden and Kurt Roundy sons of Mr. and Mrs. Don Roundy all in the navy, are seeing the world together, aboard the USS Pine Island AV-12. Larry and Lynden went through boot camp training together to-gether almost four years ago. They then were assigned to different ships. After eleven months, one of the boys asked to be transferred to the USS Pine Island, so he could be with his brother and the request re-quest was granted. Last September Sep-tember when their younger brother Kurt joined the navy, he asked to be placed on the same ship and his request was also granted. They have seen Japan, Phillipine Islands, Okinawa Ok-inawa and many other far eastern places. Many times the boys have been in waters near Viet Nam close enough to hear the guns and the bombs. Their ship is called a sea plane tender. ten-der. It is used to repair planes that have been damaged in the Viet Nam war. Lynden is head |
