Commencement exercises will begin at 10 a.m. in the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse. The academic procession, with the Board of Trustees, faculty and graduates in caps and gowns, will form on the lawn south of the Smoot Administration Building and march to the fieldhouse at 9:30 a.m. The program will include musical selections, the President's Presi-dent's message, the commencement commence-ment address, official conferring confer-ring of the bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees, conferring confer-ring of honorary doctol-al degrees de-grees and special awards, and welcoming graduates into the Alumni Association. The only diplomas to be presented pre-sented in commencement exercises exer-cises will be to those receiving doctor's degrees and honorary degrees. The Emeritus Club, made up of almuni who attended BYU 50 years ago or longer, will hold its annual luncheon and business meeting at noon in Wilkinson Center. President and Mrs. Wilkinson will be hosts at a reception in their garden for the faculty, graduates, guests and their families from 2 to 4 pm. The Air Force ROTC has scheduled the commissioning of new officers at 4 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center. The Graduate School will hold a convocation at 5 p.m. in the Harris Fine Arts Center Drama Theatre at which master's mas-ter's degree diplomas will be presented. From 7 to 8:30 p.m. the colleges col-leges will conduct convocations, presided over by the deans and bachelor's degree diplomas and associate degree certificates will be presented. The colleges also will hear the dean's message, the convocation con-vocation address by a representative repre-sentative of the class, and presentation pres-entation of special honors to outstanding students. |
