Show MA program slated for spring quarter Classes in a Southern Utah State College-Utah State University cooperative masters program in education will be held spring quarter in Cedar City, St. George and Richfield. The SUSC-USU program has been designed for in-service teachers, enabling them to complete the masters degree while remaining in southern Utah. "Forty-six teachers were enrolled in the cooperative venture winter quarter in Tropic, St. George, Cedar City and Richfield," said James M. Miller, dean of the SUSC School of Education. "From all indications, a dozen or more persons will receive their masters of education in com mencement exercises this spring." Courses in the program are taught after regular school hours and on weekends. Registgration can be completed at the beginning of each class, Dean Miller said. Additional information about the masters program is available from Dr. Miller at 586-4411, 586-4411, extension 293. or Dr. Terrance E. Hatch, USU 750-1473 Elementary Education 665 and Secondary Education 556, Reading Improvement in the Content Field, will be taught, beginning Friday, in Richfield. Class begins at 4 p.m. Friday and continues at 8 a.m. Saturday at Richfield High School. Dr. Kent E. Myers, professor of education at SUSC, is the course instructor. Psychology 666, Principles of Learning, is being taught Tuesdays at 5 p.m. at St. George Junior High School. Mark E. Webster, assistant professor of education at SUSC, is the instructor. Class began Mar. 17, but registration for the masters course is still open, Miller said. The final class in the spring quarter agenda, Education 674, School Law, is being taught Tuesdays in SUSC's Old Main, room 205. Beginning Tuesday, the class is being taught by Dr. Steven Peterson, administrator of secondary education for the Washington School District. |
