Show Hart breaks T-Bird 5000 record PROVO One more SUSC track record fell at Saturday's non-scoring BYU Invitational here. Keenan Hart, though finishing second in the 5000 meter event, still turned in a fine time of 14:45.76, good enough to establish a new SUSC record. Hart finished second to Utah State's Terald Linduigsmoen, but did finish ahead of three-time Deseret News Marathon winner and former BYU trackster Demetrio Cabanillas. Other SUSC athletes did well at the meet. Russell Eyre won his heat of the 400 intermediate hurdles in 55.56, but did not p place in the finals. Aaron Sampson had a long jump of 23-3' 2, good for second place. Brother Adrian jumped 22-8 and placed seventh. Chris Glover placed fourth in his heat of the 110 meter high hurdles, running a 15.68. Marvin Bagley and Rick Palmer placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in their heats of the 110, running 16.03 and 16.32. T-Bird Bill Davis was fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.47. Eric Houle placed sixth in his heat of the 800 meter run, compiling a time of 1:58.95. Rick Palmer placed fourth in his heat of the 400 intermediate hurdles, running a 57.64. |
