Show 1 Janet says Cookies a sure hit If your house is like mine, the cookie jar is the busiest place in it. You might want to try one of these new and different recipes to fill your iar. GRANOLA COOKIES Vz c. shortening, soft 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. Quaker 100 Percent Natural Cereal 3 Tbsp. milk 1V4 c. sifted all-purpose . flour V2 tsp. soda '4 tsp. salt Beat shortening, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla together until creamy. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture; blend well. Stir in 100 Percent Natural Cereal. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven (350 degrees) for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 3 dozen. GRANDMA'S COOKIES Mix together with cookies: 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. oil Add 2 eggs, slightly beaten Add alternately: 2 c. buttermilk (add 2 tsp. baking soda to milk) 2Vi c. flour Add: 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. salt 4 c. oatmeal " chocolate chips nuts raisins Drop spoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. |
