Show TheTh urs day Tip- off I Parowan vs. Milford BEAVER Parowan High School has a pretty rough road lying between it and a state playoff , berth, and just a seventh-seeded seventh-seeded spot at that. Losing the first game of the Region 12 Round Robin to Piute put the Rams into a position of being able to claim a Region 12 seventh place at best, but they must first beat three teams to even get that. The first hurdle should , be the easiest for Parowan, for they will V,-; .meet Milford for the third time this year. That game will be played Friday at 10 a.m. The, Tigers are the only team in Region 12 Parowan has been able to conquer twice, by six in Parowan and by nine in Milford. Parowan had sizeable leads at times during ' both games. But the Beaver County team may have a bit of momentum going for themViFor one, they lost to tough Escalante of Division Two by just three points in their opening round game, then won their first game .since Region 12 play began, downing Bryce' Valley in the second round 56-49. . . Assuming that Parowan can get past the Tigers on Friday morning, mor-ning, which may be no easy task, they will get the loser of the En-terprise-Gunnison match Saturday evening. Parowan lost twice to Enterprise, both by relatively close scores, and had split with Gunnison, with each team, oddly, winning it. game on the road. The Rams, with a solid effort, could knock off either team, though both would be listed as slight .favorites to down PHS. A win there would place Parowan into a game for a state ; playoff spot Monday at 7:30 p.m. against probably Escalante or Beaver. ,t ; So while it will be likely Parowan can ;down Milford ; Fridayf don't count on them to make it past there, unless their play improves quite a bit . |
