Show Woman named as consultant Vona Houtz, Cedar City, Past National President of the VFW Auxiliary, will serve as consultant on patriotic and service programs at the National VFW Auxiliary Mid-Year Conference in Washington, D.C., March 21-22. Over 500 national leaders will attend the conference. Houtz will also participate par-ticipate in wreath-laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery commemorating com-memorating the service of all veterans, living and dead. Mrs. Houtz will tour the VFW Washington Headquarters where legislative efforts are directed tor veterans rights and benefits, national defense and security, as well as the VFW Political Action Committee. A $10,000 cancer research grant will be presented to Jackson Laboratories, Bar Harbor, Maine. Last year, the 640,000 members mem-bers of the National VFW Auxiliary raised $1,866,000 for cancer aid and research. VFW Commander-in-Chief Arthur Fellwock will be the speaker at the Saturday night banquet. During the past year, Auxiliary members gave over 25 million hours of service and contributed 29 million dollars to help : others. |
