Show PHS holds shoot meet PAROWAN -The Parowan High Journalism Jour-nalism Department sponsored a rifle shoot for all students and faculty last week. Forty -seven shooters turned out for the event, reported Mrs. Sandra Benson, journalism jour-nalism advisor. Each participant was scored on his or her shooting ability with a peep sight, scope and plain sight rifle. Winners in the faculty division were Mr. Floyd Roberts with a score of 77 and Anita Heaton, 57. In the male over-sixteen over-sixteen division, Robbie Stevens took first place with a score of 74. John Rex was second with a score of 70. Jeff Galley was the third place winner with a score of 70. Fourth place went to Doug Heimansen with a score of 57. Fifth place went to Scott Thorton and Wayne Moss, who both scored 53. In the male under-sixteen under-sixteen division, first place went to Chris Robb who had a score of 76. Lyle Barton and Tyler Freeborn tied for second with scores of 68. Ty Borden and Todd Robinson tied for third place with a score of 66. In the female division, Colette Adams claimed first with a score of 64. Janie Hansen came in second with a score of 48, and Christi Austin took third with a score of 46. The first place winner in each division received a 8 x 10 candid photo of himself or herself and a giant candy bar. |
