A brisk storm swept through southern Utah Tuesday night and Wednesday, bringing the first signs of winter to Iron County. In the picture on the left, the new Cedar City i Park is blanketed with ' about three inches of the white stuff, while a local t garden is white-coated as J well (right). ' Cedar reported just a trace of snow, and .25 of j precipitation, but most town locations received 2 to 3 inches of snow over a 12 hour period. Parowan, Summit and Beryl also reported 2 inches, and .17, .21 and .13 inches respectively. New Harmony had just a skiff of snow and .06 inches. By the opening of the Deer Hunt, nearly all snow below the 7,500-foot level had melted, and fall skies had set in. |
