Show Kanarraville NEWS by Carma Williams Mr. Kenneth C. Clark has filed for 4-year County Commissioner and will run 1 on the Republican ticket. Lets all support Kenneth on this assignment. Mrs. Vaughn Isom celebrated her 78th birthday April 20. Her 4 sisters came to help her celebrate. Also other members of the family. They all enjoyed the day visiting and a birthday dinner. Miss Barbara Smith, daughter of Allen LeRoy and Nolleen Smith was chosen as a cheerleader for the high school varsity and Randi Nelson, daughter of Dick and Jane Nelson was chosen cheerleaders for the Jr. Varsity. Congratulations to the young ladies for their fine work. Spencer and Herma Truman and Tony and Judy Gubler spent a few days in Rosemead, Calif, attending the wedding of their niece. Mrs. Andy Canfield and two daughters from St. Art apparently died of a heart attack. Allison and Alice Williams from Inkom, Idaho spent a week here with their mother Mabel Williams and sister and brother-in-law Ardella and Marvin Bryan. Dayton and Delila Davis from Las Vegas spent the nigfht with their sister Ferl Zohner and visited other relatives and friends. Michael and Hanna Galbraith and children from Hill AF Base spent the weekend here with their mother, Gwen Davis. Thomas Smith returned home Friday after spending ' two months in Calif, and Australia. Larry and Kathy Bulloch . and family spent Sat. here with their parents, Belle and Virgil Davis. Michael and Maureen Peterson from Springville stopped and visited their grandmother Arvilla Woodbury. They were on their way to Las Vegas. Eldon Reeves, son of Clayton and Shirlee Reeves, and Trade Gerber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gerber participated int he Special Olympics Thursday at SUSC for Iron, Garfield, and Washington Counties. They came home with several ribbons 1st, 2nds and 3rds. Our town was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Val William Davis, son of Gwen and the late Delile Davis who was found dead in his bed in Page, Ariz. George spent Thurs. visiting her grandmother Lou Ella Hawkins and Aunt Rosalie Williams and son Aaron. Mrs. Utahna Taylor from Las Vegas spent a week here at the home of her brother and sister-in-law J. F. and Berta Williams. She came to help care for her brother J.F. who has returned home from ' the hospital but is seriously ill with cancer. Mrs. Karen Olson is in the WMC where she had major surgery on Tuesday for a kidney disorder. Sherry Jaggard from Semi Valley, CA and Marilyn Holliday and son Mark from Garden Grove, CA came to spend a week with their parents James and Thelma Lovell. James is in poor, health. Marvin and Ardella Bryan from Las Vegas sold their home in Las Vegas and moved here to live. Marvin and Ardella own the home where their mother Mabel Williams lives. Reeve and Rocena Chidester from Kearns are here spending a week working on their house and yards. They own the home owned by their parents the late Lysle and Alice Piatt. Vicki Cornelius, Diana and Monta Munford spent Sunday and Monday in Las Vegas. They went to attend the Kenny Rogers show at the Riviera Club. Jeffrey and Ellen Williams from Ivins spent Sat. through Mon. here with their parents, Chester and Carma Williams, Bert and Roberta Eastman. Lional and Thora Davis from Henderson, NV spent the weekend here visiting their sister, brother and brother-in-law Arvilla Woodbury, Irene Davis, Chloe and Joe Leeder, Ferl Zohner, Virgil and Belle Davis. The town was shocked by the sudden death of Art Sechrest who was found dead by his friend Henry Bauer at his home April 25. |
