Show Screening for Diabetes . Diabetes is the third leading cause of death in the United States and contributes to serious conditions such as blindness - and circulatory and heart diseases. An important step in controlling any disease is early detection. The Medicine ' Shoppe, a prescription-oriented pharmacy is offering a free screening ..' for diabetes on Friday, May 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 97 West Center Street. The Utah Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association is participating in the program to create awareness and help detect elevated sugar levels which occur in persons who have diabetes. Individuals planning to be tested should eat a balanced meal two hours before being screened. (KNOWN ! DIABETICS WILL NOT BE 1 SCREENED). People who are a relative of a diabetic or oyer age 40, 9 or overweight, and women who have had a baby who 3 weighed more than nine pounds at birth should be j checked.
