Show r l 1 ; . . iXj I . SUSC Spring Concert A special spring concert featuring Southern Utah State College chamber and A'cappella choirs will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall. The public is invited to join us for an afternoon of beautiful choral music, a springtime concert which marks the culmination of a year's work," says Blaine H. Johnson, SUSC choral director. Included on the program will be several traditional choral arrangements as well as Italian madrigals, modern religious selections written by Scandinavian composers, and some old-time old-time jazz pieces. With the exception of a few selections directed by students Colin A. Campbell and Joyce McCallister ' Brannum, all pieces per-f per-f formed by the 56-member ; a'cappella and 20-member chamber choirs will be directed by Dr. Johnson. Campbell, a senior music major from Cedar City, will direct the Hallelujah Chorus from Beethoven's oratorio "The Mount of Olives". Brannum, a music student from Henderson, Nevada, will direct the women's section, a'cappella choir, in the beloved "Greensleeves" and in a selection from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific." . SOLOIST. Stacey Brown, principal clairnetist with the Cedar Junior High School Honor Band, will be featured soloist tonight, Thursday, at the Band-A-Rama concert. |
