Show Woodward High School Play To Be Given On Stake Budget Program m By PAUL THOMPSON On the stake budget program, Woodward high school's comic operetta, op-eretta, "White Gypsy", will be presented Friday, April 3rd, at 8:30 p.m., in the school gymnasium. gymnas-ium. This gypsy musical, is abley directed di-rected by Stanley Schmutz, with assistance on dance instruction by Anneliese Ence. It is enlivened and enriched by melodies from Brahm's Hungarian dances and other choice gypsy music. The school string orchestra will accompany ac-company all the songs and dances. Members of the cast are as follows: fol-lows: Joyce Bethell, as the Princess Princ-ess and White Gypsy; Mona Cox, Zola; DeLora Johnson, Romany Rose; Olive Brooks, Guinn; Melvin Terry, Kom; Vernon Short, Kink; Sheldon Johnson, King; Preston Empey, Gypsy chief; Chester Snow, Miklo; Marvin Woodbury, Zingan; the Kink's two spies, David Finlayson and Albert Burgess; Burg-ess; and the skeleton, DeWayne Gentry. Gypsies are composed of the advanced chorus; White Cats and Gyros, consist of second-year students. All indications are that this operetta will be fine entertainment, entertain-ment, and a large audience will certainly be compensated for the work of those concerned in this production. |
