Show Wider Use of Dixie's Air Training Facilities Contemplated, Reports Miles Wider use of the air training facilities fa-cilities of St. George and the Dixie college are contemplated, according accord-ing to M. J. Miles, ground in-instructor. in-instructor. Within the next few weeks air corps trainees will arrive ar-rive to receive their basic training. train-ing. The ground work will be under un-der Mr. Miles, and "Andy" Anderson Ander-son will direct the flight instruction. instruc-tion. When they complete their training another .group will come in. The courses will probably be repeated during the duration of the war. . Local officials are trying to get an advanced unit in flying work here. If this is accomplished it would mean an investment of $20,-000 $20,-000 and an expansion of the college col-lege facilities. It is hoped this program can be started by July 1. The Bassett and Phelps crosscountry cross-country trainees have now completed com-pleted their initial program. The men passed their exams last Friday. Fri-day. Their ground course was given under college leadership. They will now start on the instructor in-structor course. |
